We offer a comprehensive range of portfolio management services, whereby you will be given your own individual investment manager who is personally responsible for your portfolio. At an initial meeting we ensure that we fully understand your  requirements and objectives for capital growth, income and risk whilst also taking into account the time horizon for investing. Furthermore, we understand the importance of making all advice and paperwork as straightforward as we possibly can.

Following this initial meeting we focus on providing bespoke advice whereby we tailor a portfolio to your individual requirements. Dependant upon our views on global stockmarkets and our asset allocation model, portfolios will consist of weightings in:

To ensure that you benefit from the collective knowledge and experience of our investment team, our house view on markets and investments is developed from the consensus opinion of our investment managers.

Discretionary Portfolio Management:

Our Discretionary Service would suit you if you would like us to manage your portfolio of investments without referral to you before making alterations.

Within Discretion we take responsibility for all investment decisions simply contacting you with an explanation of our actions after executing the transaction.

Our investment managers constantly monitor your portfolio and will make alterations as required, and in line with your stated investment objectives, when investment decisions are made. In addition, you will also receive a comprehensive review of your portfolio twice yearly, at which time we consider all aspects of portfolio management such as capital gains tax and ISAs.

As a discretionary client, you will benefit from utilising our safe custody service whereby stock will be registered in the name of Barratt & Cooke Nominees Limited, with you having your own designated account. Therefore, you will remain the beneficial owner at all times and receive any dividends and corporate actions declared by the company.

In order to keep you up to date with the value of your investments, we produce valuations and performance statistics in April and October each year, whilst we also issue end of year tax reports in April.

We do not charge a discretionary management fee

Advisory Portfolio Management:

Within the Advisory Service we will offer investment advice on your portfolio, although the final decision on making alterations to the portfolio remains with you. We adopt a pro-active role in the management of your portfolio and make recommendations, in accordance with your investment objectives, as and when we feel they are appropriate or in response to corporate activity. In addition and where appropriate, you will also receive an annual review of your portfolio, at which time we consider all aspects of portfolio management such as capital gains tax and ISAs.

Although not essential, we strongly recommend that as an advisory client you utilise our safe custody service, whereby stock will be registered in the name of Barratt & Cooke Nominees Limited, with you receiving your own designated account. Therefore, you will remain the beneficial owner at all times and receive any dividends and corporate actions declared by the company whilst there is no paperwork required to settle any transactions.

Furthermore, if utilising our nominee service, in addition to receiving valuations in April and October each year, you will also receive end of year tax reports in April.

We do not charge an advisory management fee.

SIPPs:

Following ‘A’ Day on 6th April 2006, SIPPs (Self Invested Personal Pensions) received more favourable tax treatment and have since become prominent in the investment world. We have gradually expanded our SIPP service over recent years and have formed important relationships with a number of the leading SIPP providers.

In the first instance if you are thinking of investing in a SIPP you should seek pension advice from a pension adviser.  If it is decided that a SIPP is appropriate we will then be in a position to manage the stockmarket element of the SIPP within either our advisory or discretionary portfolio management service whereby, having obtained full details of your objectives for growth, income and risk, we construct a bespoke portfolio based on your individual requirements.

All stock is registered and held within a designated nominee account at Barratt & Cooke which ensures we deal with all dividends, rights issues and other paperwork from the investments. Furthermore, we send formal valuations in April and October each year, whilst we also issue end of year tax reports in April
